Wayne J.W. Syn, DDS
I have been part of this great community for over 30 years now. Wow how time flies. I still enjoy coming to the office and seeing our wonderful patients. That has not changed since December of 1990.
My first six years of life was spent in Malaysia. I still love the South East Asian culture and food and try to visit periodically when I can. In 1970 our family immigrated to California and we have never left. I went to high school in Sunnyvale and attended San Jose State University as a Molecular Biology Major. I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the esteemed University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, graduating in 1990.
In my free time I enjoy fishing (mainly fly fishing), fly tying, golf, travelling, eating great food and spending time with my wife and three amazing children (twin boys and a girl).
I have been extremely lucky to have travelled the world to fish such exotic locations such as Brazil, Guatemala, Bolivia, Costa Rica, South Pacific, Malaysia, Singapore, Bahamas, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Alaska, Canada, and the Florida Keys. Not to mention many other states in the lower forty-eight.
I also manage a four man guide service called Orland Outfitters (www.orlandoutfitters.com) and guide part time.
Life for me revolves around my wife and children. I would say dentistry or fishing would come second or third and golf would be fourth… however a good meal is tough to beat!
I find dentistry very rewarding and absolutely love what I do. I love education and always find the time to learn more about the newest technologies and treatment modalities. I have over 2,200 hours of continuing education under my belt and those hours are constantly growing. I believe staying on the cutting edge of dentistry is necessary for our patient’s optimum health.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Northern California Dental Association, World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry, World Clinical Laser Institute, Academy of Computerized Dentistry of Northern America, International Association of Ozone in Healthcare and the Northern California Cerec Study Club.
