My parents went to the University of Minnesota from Malaysia to attend college. I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and soon after (1 month) we moved back to our home country Malaysia. My father was Singaporean and my Mother is Malaysian. We lived in Malaysia for 7 more years before moving to the U.S. where we settled in the town of Sunnyvale California.

 

I attended San Jose State University and majored in Molecular Biology.  I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco graduating in 1990.

I enjoy fishing (mainly fly fishing), fly tying, golf, traveling, eating good food and spending time with my wife and three wonderful children (twin boys and a girl).

I have been extremely fortunate to have fished in such exotic locations as Alaska, Canada, Bahamas, Mexico, Baja California, Costa Rica, Guatamala, Brazil, South Pacific, Malaysia, Singapore and in the Keys. I also run a fishing guide service called Orland Outfitters (orlandoutfitters.com) along with 4 other guides.

 

Life for me revolves around my children and wife. I would say dentistry or fishing would come in a close second and golf would probably be third or fourth. However a good meal is tough to beat!

I find dentistry very rewarding and I absolutely love what I do. I love education and I always find the time to learn more about the newest technologies and treatment modalities. I believe staying on the cutting edge of dentistry is neccessary for my patients' optimum oral health.

I am a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Northern California Dental Association, World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry, World Clinical Laser Institute, Academy of Computerized Dentistry of North America and the Northern California CEREC study Club.
